The Captive Ring symbolizes eternal love/ bond between two people. The story goes that sometime during the 18th century, a young woodworker's apprentice lovingly hand-turned a wooden goblet for his lady love. A ring was cut from the solid block of wood, eternally capturing the ring on the stem of the goblet. The Goblet with the Captive/ Unity Ring was a mark of the woodworkers skill, and meant to symbolise the eternal circle of love between them. |
